Course Objectives: As a member of the health care team, individual, family and community groups in the field of public health nursing can take a role in selected practices related to primary health problems, and to make program planning for health promotion activities.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
"1. Public Health and Nursing Reflects the basic concepts and theories of science to public health nursing
2. Plays a role in selected health care applications in the areas of school health, home care and elderly health
3. Applies a health education program to protect and improve the health of the individual
4. Plan health screening
5. Uses OMAHA clinical classification system in community diagnosis and evaluation
6. Individual / Family / Community health education plans
7. Reports the needs of nursing care in line with nursing process
8. Report the risks to the home environment of patients receiving home care
9. Collaborates with other health disciplines, colleagues and community leaders
10. Use problem solving skills in different situations faced in social areas"

Course Content

Elderly Care Nursing - Observing and evaluating elderly and institutional characteristics of the institution in terms of elderly health, Elderly Care Nursing- Diagnosis of Health, Elderly Care Nursing-Planning and supervising nursing interventions to meet the determined problems or needs of the elderly, Elderly Care Nursing-Elderly group health education program planning, School Health Nursing Practices-Diagnosis of health of children in school age group, informing parents and teachers about it, School Health Nursing Practices-Health risks of school environment (canteen, cafeteria, toilets, corridors, play areas, classes, etc.) in terms of monitoring, reporting, School Health Nursing Practices - Planning and implementation of screening programs according to prioritized requirements, School Health Nursing Practices health education program planning, Home Care Nursing-Meeting with the home care team and cooperation, Home Care Nursing- Making home health diagnostics, monitoring the risks in the home environment of the patients receiving care, Home Care Nursing- Nursing interventions application with planning and supervisor. , Home Care Nursing-Planning the health education program for the family of patients receiving home care

4) Elderly Care Nursing-Planning and supervising nursing interventions to meet the determined problems or needs of the elderly
5) Elderly Care Nursing-Planning the health education program for the elderly group
6) School Health Nursing Practices-Diagnosing the health of the school age group, informing parents and teachers about this issue
7) School Health Nursing Practices-Observing, reporting about school environment (canteen, cafeteria, toilets, corridors, playgrounds, classes, etc.) in terms of health risks
8) School Health Nursing Practices-Planning and implementation of screening programs according to prioritized requirements-1
9) School Health Nursing Practices-Planning and implementation of screening programs according to priority requirements-2
10) School Health Nursing Practices-Planning the health education program for the school group
