Course Objectives: | The aim of this course is to transfer basic physics information, to teach the structure of light, its physical properties, the interaction of light with matter and the explanation of optical systems and devices used with optical phenomena. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; Students who can successfully complete this course; 1) Can use basic theoretical and applied knowledge about optics. 2) He/she can perform all applications related to optics in accordance with his/her technique. 3) Interprets and evaluates data, defines and analyzes problems, and can take part in studies planned for a solution, using the basic knowledge and skills acquired in the field of optics. 4) Students will be able to professionally evaluate and apply the knowledge gained from basic theoretical and applied courses supported by lecture notes, application tools and visual-objective sources containing up-to-date information in optics. 5) Using the basic knowledge and skills acquired in the field of optics, interpreting and evaluating data, defining and analyzing problems, and developing solutions based on evidence. 6) Contribute in accordance with social, scientific, cultural and ethical values in the stages of collecting, interpreting, applying and announcing the results of data related to the field of optics. 7) As an individual, he/she can act in accordance with the laws, regulations, regulations and professional ethics rules regarding his/her duties, rights and responsibilities. 8) Can carry out a given task independently by using the basic knowledge of optician. 9) Can work as a team member to solve complex and unpredictable problems encountered in applications related to optics. 10) Informs the relevant persons and institutions by using the basic knowledge and skills he has in the field of optics; can convey his thoughts and suggestions for solutions to problems verbally and in writing. 11) By using a foreign language at least at the A2 General Level of the European Language Portfolio, they can follow the information in their field and communicate with their colleagues. 12) Evaluate the basic knowledge and skills acquired in optics with a critical approach. |
In this course; geometric optics and its place and importance in physics, light and optics, nature of light, wave model of light (wavelength, frequency, electromagnetic spectrum), particle model of light (photon energy), reflection laws, reflection laws, full reflection, reflection in plane and spherical mirrors laws, breaking spherical crushing surfaces, lenses, thin-edged lens systems, thick-edged lens systems are taught. |
