Course Objectives: To enable students to understand philosophical and theoretical foundations, principles and techniques, effectiveness, case conceptualization, inadequate and strengths side of the new psychological counseling approaches and models.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1.Disclose the development and current status of the contemporary counseling approaches.
2.Describe the theoretical basics and basic concepts of the contemporary counseling theories.
3.Describe the methods and techniques used in contemporary counseling theories.
4.Describe the case conceptualization, counseling planning and evaluation processes of contemporary counseling theories.
5.Discuss the effectiveness of contemporary counseling approaches.

Course Content

New and different counseling approaches and models, concepts, principles and techniques that form the basis of these approaches and models; to have knowledge about conceptualizing and evaluating the problems of the client in the context of the subject approach and model, and sample applications.
