Course Objectives: The main objective of this course is to determine which legal system and the law of which jurisdiction will apply to a legal dispute among private individuals involving a foreign element.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
I. Analyze the international procedural law problems.
II. Determine the international jurisdiction of Turkish courts in disputes involving foreign element.
III. Analyze the obligation of warranty.
IV. Determine the conditions of recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments.
V. Analyze the disputes concerning the stature of foreigners in Turkey.
VI. Define and determine the differences of the concepts of foreigner, immigrant and refugee.
VII. Determine the conditions of the acquisition of immovables by foreigners.
VIII. Determine the conditions of working permit of foreigners.
IX. Determine the conditions of foreign investment in Turkey.
