Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to make students critically analyze scholarly sources and effectively integrate source material into a complex argument.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
By the end of the course the students should be able to...
1. locate, organize, and evaluate diverse sources in order to critique current 2. research and determine gaps in a research problem.
2. apply the writing and research process to critically analyze scholarship in a field of study.
3. integrate appropriate sources to construct unified, coherent, and well-supported academic papers within complex arguments.
4. Write short length, high standards research papers using the MLA Method.

Course Content

This course focuses on the key academic writing skills that students need for university-level research. While developing these skills, students receive ample practice in reading and writing a wide range of written texts, specifically chosen with their future studies in mind. Students are made aware of typical characteristics of academic texts and the need for citation to acknowledge the work of others.
