Course Objectives: | This course aims to introduce to the students the concept of live sound and real-time workflow. Enrolled students will study theoretical concepts on sound system design, live sound equipment and terminology, concert acoustical space properties and also will experience the hands-on work practice in real-world scenarios as well as developing skills of professional behavior and communication which is a must in live sound industry. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; I. Understand the goal of live sound engineering. II. Develop the skill to adapt everyday-changing systems and environment, meanwhile maintain consistency. III. Introduce the sound systems design and applications. IV. Introduce the signal flow of a live sound system, installation and operation. V. Develop the skill of real-time workflow and endure substantial stress of working conditions. VI. Develop professional understanding of engaging other working parties in the industry. VII. Understand the concepts of entertainment business. |
1st week: Introduction to the course and the way the course will be held 2nd week: Sound Systems and Frequency Response 3rd week: Decibel, Sound Level and RMS 4th week: Dynamic Range, Sound Indoors/Outdoors 5th week: Reading Specifications 6th week: Microphones –Wired and Wireless 7th week: Preamp, Mixer and Mix Console 8th week: Power Amplifier, The Loudspeaker 9th week: Signal Processing Equipment 10th week: Cabling, Test Equipment, Electronics 11th week: Ways of Operation in Live Sound, Approach of a Live Sound Engineer 12th week: Loudspeaker, Design and Application 13th week: Preperation and Planning Before Setup 14th week: Live Sound Industry as a professional working field |
