Course Objectives: 1 The aim of this course is to teach the context of maintaining a safe navigational officer and cruising shift duties, crew's powers and responsibilities.
2 The International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea: COLGREG 72's content and purpose of the implementation of teaching.
3 Rules to be observed in keeping navigational watch, keeping in Port-shift basis

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1 the students summarize and explain the contents of this course.
2 the students can evaluate any situation taking advantage of the watchkeeping standards and COLREG regulations and they present their work.
3 the students may identify signals of a ship during the voyage and they decide.

Course Content

Stranding of the dangers of conflict and responsibilities,
requirements of cruise, cruise tools to use and control, procedures for the receipt and delivery shifts, cruise with the pilot, observing,using radar, coastal navigation, navigation in restricted visibility, to manage staff at the top of the bridge , iron shift and principles, port shift, shift handover procedures of the harbor, bad weather at port, the repetition of conflict prevention regulations, measures should be taken to prevent marine pollution and information about MARPOL 73/78.
