Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to introduce health and care practices that support the physical, psychological, and social development of children; and to enhance the knowledge and skills of family counselors in this area. Students will gain knowledge about the basic principles of child health, common childhood health issues, nutrition, hygiene, safety, and family support systems.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
Explains the basic principles of child health.

Identifies developmental stages from infancy to adolescence.

Recognizes common childhood illnesses and preventive strategies.

Relates healthy nutrition principles to child development.

Promotes family awareness regarding hygiene and care.

Describes methods to prevent childhood accidents.

Evaluates vaccination schedules and the immune system.

Defines mental health and early intervention principles.

Gains awareness on child abuse and neglect.

Discusses the impact of caregiving roles on child health.

Identifies health and care needs of children with special needs.

Develops a holistic perspective on child health in family counseling.
