Course Objectives: Gain knowledge and skills to students about giving care with holistic approach to patients will be treated surgical before, during and after operation and their families.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1. Know the development and pursuit of surgery , describes the basic concepts of surgery.
2. Know the legal and ethical issues and practice in surgery .
3. Know and assess their effects on the patient's surgery .
4. Identify situations that create risks in surgery and an attempt to prevent .
5. Surgery in fluid and electrolyte balance / imbalance and evaluate knows .
6. Knows and applies aseptic surgery .
7. Surgical process : know - preoperative and postoperative care principles and apply them.
8. Know the impact of cultural differences in surgical patients and makes cultural assessment.
9. know the principles of cancer surgery , preoperative bowel preparation and knows the stoma care and practice .
10. Accompanying defines disease, knows the effects of surgery.
11. Know the fast recovery protocols and applies

Course Content

Development and pursuit of surgery, basic concepts in surgery, legal and ethical issues surgery , the effects of surgery on patients , situations and prevention creates risks of surgery in fluid and electrolyte balance / imbalance , surgical aseptic surgical process : Preoperative - during-after cultural differences the effect of surgery, cancer surgery, bowel preparation , stomata , concomitant diseases and surgery.
