Course Objectives:	Upon completion of the required course load, program participants will select a topic from their studies for further exploration and analysis. Over the period of one semester, the student-teacher will design and conduct a research study that addresses this topic. The project differs from classes in its self-directed nature; however, the student-teacher will also receive guidance from his/her advisor.

The project provides an opportunity for the student-teacher to apply a topic of interest to a practical context. Through this process, the student-teacher will gain familiarity with a given topic and lay the foundation for specialization in a given area.

Course Content

The student-teacher will work through the series of steps listed below. He/she will meet with an advisor who will guide the process on a weekly basis.

1.Project Proposal which includes a justification for the project, defining research questions, and an outline of the proposed plan for data collection as well as techniques for data analysis
2.Literature review which summarizes all relevant sources in a cogent format
3.Data collection
4.Data analysis
5.Answers to the research question(s) and conclusions
6.Project report writing and editing
7.Project report submission
