Course Objectives: The aim of this course is upskill cruise astronomical principles introducing the solar system and the stars, with the help of elements of the sphere of the sky able to position in the open sea.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
Students who have completed this course successfully, will be able to
1 identify compass errors with the help of the heavenly bodies
2 recognize the solar system and the stars and place the position in the open sea
3.calculate the meridian transitions of the Sun, Moon and planets.

Course Content

Calculate the meridian transitions of the Sun, Moon and planets, Determination of latitude in Meridian Transition,to find the latitude and longitude in the sun meridian passage. Using Star finders. Determination of Latitude with polar star. to find Compass error with the help of the Celestial Bodies.
