Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
• The importance of statistics, applied fields, and the basic concepts are explained.
• Collection of statistical data relating to an event and the techniques related to the data are explained and applied.
• Explains and applies the techniques of presenting data.
• Measures of central tendency and dispersion explaining implements them.
• Explain the basic rules concerning the probability and makes the applications.
• Explains the hypotheses and the related applications and makes hypothesis tests.

Basic concepts of statistics: the importance of statistics, from application areas, Data Processing, Data collection and processing methods, Series and Charts: Chart types, Measures of Central Tendency: Arithmetic Mean, Geometric Mean, Mode, Median, Measures of Variation: Standard Deviation, Variance, Coefficient of Variation, Probability, Sampling and Sampling Distributions, Hypothesis Testing
