OPTICIANRY (TURKISH)


Profile of the Program

To train health personnel who can offer prescription glasses, all kinds of lenses, optical vision equipment, eyeglass frames, protective glasses and sunglasses written in prescriptions given by ophthalmologists.

Qualification Awarded

The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree of Bachelor of Optisyen Teknikeri

Level of Qualification

This is a Associate (Short Cycle) program.

Specific Admission Requirements

Students are accepted through the YKS (Higher Education Institutions Exam) administered by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Upon successful completion along with the qualifications of the program, (the 5th level) Associate degree is given in the field of Opticianry

Recognition of Prior Learning

Students who are selected by Student Selection and Placement center and who complete their admition process are eligible to attend the school.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

The graduates of the program have job opportunities in the private sector. They can also open their own business.

Access to Further Studies

The graduates can take external transfer exam (DGS) and can pass to departments of Physics, Physics Engineering, Emergency Aid and Disaster Management, Optical and Acoustic Engineering and Health Management of the faculties.

Program Outcomes

1 The student acquires theoretical and practical knowledge related to his field at a basic level.
2 The student owns information about moral discipline and ethical rules related to his field.
3 The student uses theoretical and practical knowledge related to his field at a basic level; basic fundamental computer programs and related technologies.
4 The student manages a duty independently by using the knowledge about his field at a basic level.
5 The student evaluates the knowledge about his field at a basic level with a critical approach, he designates his learning needs and directs his learning.
6 The student uses information and communication technologies with at least at basic level of European Computer Using Licence basic level of computer software which his field of study requires.
7 The student complies with and contributes to quality management and processes.
8 The student has sufficient consciousness about individual and public health, environmental protection and work safety issues.
9 The student acts in accordance with laws, regulations, legislations and professional ethics related to individual duties, rights and responsibilities.
