Students who have graduated from different disciplines and departments are accepted to the program.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Graduates of Psychology, Guidance and Psychological Counseling, Social Services and Faculty of Medicine and Nursing can apply to the non-thesis master's program in Family Counseling (The equivalence of undergraduate diplomas obtained from abroad must be approved by the Higher Education Council (YÖK). A foreign language certificate and ALES score are not required from the candidates. Students are admitted to the program with a written science exam and an interview. Students are admitted to the master's program after an interview. The number of students to be admitted to graduate programs and the qualifications to be sought in candidate students are announced before the beginning of each semester. In this announcement, the application conditions and the deadline, the place and date of the interview of the candidates are stated. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree. The equivalence of undergraduate diplomas obtained from abroad must be approved by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates; Until the application deadline specified in the announcement, they fill out their undergraduate diplomas, the grades they received from the courses they studied at the undergraduate level, the approved documents indicating their graduation grade point average, other registration information and apply to the institute directorate with the candidate number they provide in the internet registration environment. The registration procedures of the candidates are arranged and carried out by the related institute directorate. Candidates in the Turkish Republic and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, who have completed the necessary application conditions, are taken to the interview exam by the candidate evaluation jury. Interview grade is given out of 100 full grades. Scientific achievement level of a candidate; It is the sum of 75% of the undergraduate grade point average and 25% of the interview grade. Candidates must have a minimum interview score of 50 and a scientific achievement score of at least 60.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Successful students who have completed at least one semester in another department of the same institute at the university or in a graduate program affiliated with an equivalent institute of another higher education institution can be admitted to graduate programs through horizontal transfer. In order for a student's lateral transfer application to be accepted, a weighted grade point average of at least 75 from the courses he has registered until the application date, a compatibility between the graduate education program he is currently continuing and the program he wants to transfer in terms of courses and entry requirements, thesis/project in the relevant department. It is necessary to have faculty members and infrastructure opportunities to undertake the consultancy. A student who wishes to transfer to a graduate program of the university; He applies to the relevant institute directorate at least three weeks before the start of the next semester's education, by attaching the documents that introduce the education program he/she is attending and the success status of the courses he/she is enrolled in to his/her petition.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Family counseling thesis/non-thesis master's graduates work as family counselors in various public and private institutions. In addition, he can open his own consultancy center with the title he has.

Access to Further Studies

Graduates who successfully complete the master's program can apply to doctoral programs with a bachelor's degree in their field or in multi-disciplinary fields, provided that they get a valid grade from the ALES exam and provide English language proficiency, and are accepted if they are successful in the interview exam. Students who graduate from family counseling cannot directly apply to doctoral programs with a master's degree with thesis.

6 Being able to independently carry out a work that requires expertise in the field.
7 - To be able to systematically convey the current developments in the field and their own studies to groups in and outside the field, in written, verbal and visual forms, by supporting them with quantitative and qualitative data.
8 To be able to critically examine social relations and the norms that guide these relations, to develop them and take action to change them when necessary.
