SURGICAL DISEASES NURSING (TURKISH, THESIS)


Profile of the Program

The aim of the program is to train nurses who will take leading roles and responsibilities in health prevention and promotion, management and rehabilitation services for healthy people, patients, families and community, and who will be able to conduct high-quality research focused on primary health care needs and able to play a key role in dissemination and / or implementation of the study results into practice for improving nursing care.

Specific Admission Requirements

In order to study in this graduate program, the applicants are required; 1. To have graduated from an undergraduate (4 year) program: A bachelor’s degree of Nursing or Midwifery Programs and Meeting the general application requirements of the Graduate School of Health Sciences. 2. To be holding a minimum score of 55 points from ALES (Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Exam) or minimum 610 from the quantitative part of GRE (Graduate Record Examination) 3. To be successful in the scientific interview.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The students studying in this second cycle program with thesis are required: 1. to take a minimum of 8 courses with a minimum of 25 local credits, one seminar course, and a thesis. (The seminar and thesis are non-credit and graded on a pass/fail basis.) 2. to succeed in all the courses with a letter grade of at least C/S 3. to have a Cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 3.00/4.00 with a minimum of 120 ECTS credits.

Recognition of Prior Learning

At Bahcesehir University, full-time students can be exempted from some courses within the framework of the related bylaws. If the content of the course previously taken in another institution is equivalent to the course offered at BAU, then the student can be exempted from this course with the approval of the related faculty/graduate school after the evaluation of the course content.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Our graduated students can work as academicians in the universities, work as a nurse or a nurse manager in hospitals or other public or private health institutions, rehabilitation centers, workplace health services, school health departments and family health centres.

The students graduated from this program may apply to doctorate programs.

8 To use appropriate communication techniques in professional roles and responsibilities in implementing a multidisciplinary understanding and cooperation.
9 To use the informatics and care technology in the expertise of nursing education, practice, research, and management field.
10 To follow the professional literature in the field of nursing at national and international level, to conduct scientific studies and to reflect the research results into practice.
11 To be able to follow developments in the professional field and to develop effective communication and collaboration with colleagues using at least one foreign language, and to conduct transcultural studies in order to contribute to nursing care.
12 To take active roles and responsibilities in organizations which contribute to the development of the profession, and to develop solutions using critical approaches.
