Profile of the Program

Global Affairs is an interdisciplinary program, featuring a broad variety of courses from history to economics, political psychology to energy politics. Based on the indivisibility of domestic politics and foreign policy, the curriculum seeks to equip and train students with the knowledge and expertise to evaluate local and international developments from different levels and perspectives. The department faculty comprises scholars renowned for their highly quoted scholarly work, international experience, media appearances and consulting services.

The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree of Bachelor of Global Affairs

Specific Admission Requirements

Before the start of each semester, the institutes request the quota of Turkish and foreign students from the programs and, if any, the special conditions required for application. In line with the requests from the programs, they announce the names of the graduate programs they will accept, the quota for Turkish and foreign students, the documents required for application, the deadline and other issues, and announce them to the candidates. Candidates who will apply for graduate education apply to the relevant institute with the required documents within the period specified in the announcement. In order for students to apply to a graduate program; if he/she has a bachelor's degree and is going to apply to a non-thesis program, there is no need to present an ALES/GRE/GMAT score. For English programs, it is necessary to get at least 65 points from one of the foreign language exams determined by the Interuniversity Board or to get the required score from the language exam to be held by the university. Foreign Language Exam (YDS-YÖKDİL): 65, Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): 79, BAU Language Proficiency Exam: 65). NOTE: The above-mentioned score criteria are the minimum value for application and may vary in some programs.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The non-thesis master's program consists of a total of 30 credits and 90 ECTS. This program consists of 10 courses and a term project course to be taken at the end of the year. The term project course is non-credit. For graduation, it is necessary to be successful in the term project and to have an average of 3.00 GPA in the courses.

Recognition of Prior Learning

In this program, the recognition of previous learning is made according to the Bahçeşehir University Graduate Education Regulations.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Graduates can work in various national and international institutions and agencies. They can also pursue an academic career. They can serve as ministers or MPs, members in the UN or WTO or assume positions in tourism, media, banking and international trade.

Access to Further Studies

Students who successfully complete their master's education in this program can study in doctoral programs in their field or related fields, provided that they get a valid grade from the ALES/GRE/GMAT exam and have sufficient English language knowledge.

3 Possess knowledge about quantitative, qualitative and mixed research methods in social and behavioral sciences.
4 Recognize historical patterns while evaluating contemporary political and social developments.
5 Demonstrate interdisciplinary and critical approach while analyzing, synthesizing and forecasting domestic and foreign policy
6 Conduct studies in the field professionally, both independently or as a team member.
7 Possess consciousness about lifelong learning based on Research & Development.
8 Communicate with peers both orally and in writing, by using a foreign language at least at a level of European Language Portfolio B2 General Level and the necessary informatics and communication technologies.
9 Apply field-related knowledge and competences into career advancement, projects for sustainable development goals, and social responsibility initiatives.
10 Possess the habit to monitor domestic and foreign policy agenda as well as international developments.
11 Possess competence to interpret the new political actors, theories and concepts in a global era.
12 Evaluate the legal and ethical implications of advanced technologies on politics.
