SOUND TECHNOLOGIES (TURKISH, THESIS)


Profile of the Program

The mission of the Sound Technology program is to provide its graduates with the knowledge and skills needed for high-quality work in the field, to graduate individuals who are conscious of professional responsibilities and who are committed to life-long learning.

Qualification Awarded

The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree of Bachelor of Science

Level of Qualification

This is a program.

Specific Admission Requirements

Applicants should have a Bachelors degree and a proof of ALES examination record higher than the minimum required points defined by YOK.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Students who succeed in 7 courses and a seminar course that corresponds to 120 ECTS, has a GPA of 3.00/4.00 and successfully defend an M.Sc. thesis can graduate.

Recognition of Prior Learning

For transfer students from other institutions, prior learning is cretidited in coordination with regulations set forth by the Higher Education Council of Turkey and Adaptation Commission at Bahcesehir University.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Graduate of Sound Technology Program can work in sound recording and production studios, in radio and television production companies, concert venues, audio electronics industry. They can also continue careers in higher education or research centers as researchers and academicians.

Access to Further Studies

Students who successfully complete Master's degree with Thesis can apply to doctoral programs.

Program Outcomes

1 Have sufficient background and an ability to apply knowledge of music production and engineering to identify, formulate, and solve problems of sound technology.
2 Be able to define, formulate and solve problems by choosing and applying appropriate analysis and modeling techniques.
3 Have an ability to design or implement an existing design of a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints (realistic constraints may include economic, environmental, social, artistic, health and safety issues depending on the nature of the specific design).
4 Be able to develop, choose, adapt and use innovative and up-to-date techniques, skills, information technologies, and modern tools in the sound engineering domain.
5 Be able to design and conduct experiments, as well as to collect, analyze, and interpret relevant data, and use this information to improve designs.
6 Be able to function individually as well as to collaborate with others in multidisciplinary teams.
7 Be able to recognize the need for, and to engage in life-long learning as well as a capacity to adapt to changes in the technological environment.
8 Have a consciousness of professional and ethical responsibilities as well as workers’ health, environment and work safety.
9 Have the knowledge of business practices such as project, risk, management and an awareness of entrepreneurship, innovativeness, and sustainable development.
