Profile of the Program

Doctor of Philosophy Degree Program in IE is designed to provide the students with comprehensive knowledge and scholarly work, specifically in service and production systems, at the highest level. Ph.D. students have the opportunity to pursue work in diverse areas including logistics, supply chain management, health care systems, energy systems, and production and service operations. Students are motivated by the challenge of tackling important real-world problems existing in numerous settings in business and industry.

Specific Admission Requirements

Applicants with Bachelor’s and Master’s degree must meet general point average (GPA) of 3.00/4.00, Akademik ve Lisansüstü Eğitim Sınavı (ALES) with quantitative score of 75/100 or Graduate Record Examination (GRE) with quantitative score of 685/800. English proficiency: TOEFL: 79/ 213/ 550 IBT/ CBT/ PBT, IELTS: 6.5, KPDS: 65, ÜDS: 65, Bahceşehir University Graduate Study Language Proficiency Test: 65

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The candidates who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree of PhD. in Industrial Engineering.

Recognition of Prior Learning

At Bahcesehir University , full-time students can be exempted from some courses within the framework of the related by laws. If the content of the course previously taken in another institution is equivalent to the course offered at BAU, then the student can be exempted from this course with the approval of the related faculty/graduate school after the evaluation of the course content.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

PhD. program graduates may take charge in education sector, logistics sector, public and private sector production facilities, banks, hospitals, insurance companies, and energy companies.

1 To understand and implement areas that are related with basic sciences, mathematics, and industrial engineering at a high level.
2 To have expanded and deeper knowledge in the related field including the most recent developments.
3 To use and evaluate knowledge with a systematic approach.
4 To have high level proficiency of necessary methods and skills to reach the latest knowledge in the field and to understand the knowledge for making research studies.
5 To make a comprehensive study innovating science and technology, developing new scientific method or technological product/process, implementing a known method to a new field.
6 To be able to detect, design, implement, and finalize an original independent research process; to manage this process
7 To be able to contribute science and technology by publishing outcomes of academic studies in reputable scholarly environments.
8 To be able to evaluate scientific, technological, social and cultural developments, and to transfer these developments to society with scientific objectivity and ethical responsibility.
9 To be able to conduct critical analysis, synthesis and evaluation of thoughts and developments in focusing field.
10 To be Able to communicate and discuss orally, in written and visually with peers by using a foreign language at least at a level of European Language Portfolio C1 General Level.
