Profile of the Program

The aims of the Department of Accounting and International Reporting undergraduate program are to train individuals who have good command of techniques and applications regarding accounting and finance management, independent auditing, accounting/financial reporting standards, internal control and auditing, corporate governance, business and accounting ethics; who are equipped with analytical thinking, problem- solving, and decision-making skills, and who are equipped with “innovative” skills in theoretical, analytical, and occupational levels

The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree of Bachelor of Business Administration

Specific Admission Requirements

Student admission for this graduate program is made by evaluating the level of undergraduate success and other application requirements. International Students are accepted to the graduate programs with internationally accredited undergraduate diploma and the score of above mentioned exams. The acceptance of exchange students is executed within the framework of mutual agreements (Erasmus or General Academic Protocol) between Bahçeşehir Universtiy and the partner universities. Special Students ,can be registered to the courses upon approval of the related academic unit.

The students graduating from this program are awarded Master of Accounting and International Reporting degree

Recognition of Prior Learning

At Bahcesehir University , full-time students can be exempted from some courses within the framework of the related by-laws. If the content of the course previously taken in another institution is equivalent to the course offered at BAU, then the student can be exempted from this course with the approval of the graduate school after the evaluation of the course content.

Some of the primary establishments that will need the qualifications of and employ the graduates of Accounting and International Reporting program may be listed as follows; financial affairs, financial reporting, internal control, internal auditing, and treasury departments of national and international companies, public accountant companies, auditing companies, appraisal companies, banks, stockbrokers, consultancy firms, Capital Market Council (SPK), Union of Chambers of Certified Public Accountants of Turkey (TURMOB), Banking Auditing and Regulation Institution (BDDK), Internal Auditing Institute of Turkey (TIDE), Turkish Institute of Auditing Standards and Public Oversight, Accounting and Auditing Standards Institute. Likewise, the graduates of this program will have the opportunity of finding employment not only in Turkey but also in other countries due to the fact that they will have good command of international legislation in terms of common application in financial reporting, accounting standards, and independent auditing subjects.

Access to Further Studies

Regulations, in accordance with law no. 28551 as of February 6, 2013 in the official gazette; the students who graduated from a non-thesis program may be applied PhD programs, in order to provide specified prerequisites.

Program Outcomes

1 It is required to develop analytical thinking, problem solving, a holistic viewpoint and strategic thinking in the field of accounting and reporting,
2 The students are required to understand the concepts and ideas of accounting and reporting in both national and multinational settings and practice cross disciplinary and comparative analysis,
3 To have conscious to treat appropriate professional ethic.
4 To have ability to observe accounting applications and related legal regulations in different sectors( such as banking, reassurance and construction management.
5 To have ability to observe regulations which direct accounting principle and accounting application in standards.
