FINANCIAL ECONOMICS (ENGLISH, NON-THESIS)


Profile of the Program

The program intends to give a vision to the candidates which would enable them to broadly analyze the economic and financial issues they would come across. The candidates are expected to be employed in financial institutions as chief economists and market analysts. They may also be employed in research departments of banks, brokerage houses and other similar financial intermediaries.

The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree of Bachelor of Arts

Specific Admission Requirements

This program accepts students with the evaluation of undergraduate GPA scores. International Students are accepted to the graduate programs with internationally accredited undergraduate diploma. The acceptance of exchange students is executed within the framework of mutual agreements (Erasmus or General Academic Protocol) between Bahcesehir University and the partner universities. Special students, can be registered to the courses upon approval of the related academic unit.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Students will be awarded with the degree of Master of Arts in Financial Economics.

Recognition of Prior Learning

At Bahcesehir University , full-time students can be exempted from some courses within the framework of the related by-laws. If the content of the course previously taken in another institution is equivalent to the course offered at BAU, then the student can be exempted from this course with the approval of the graduate school after the evaluation of the course content.

Our graduates are mainly developing their caree's in all kinds of institutions in financial industry in these positions; - Investment Banking - Asset Management - Portfolio Management - Corporate Treasury Management

Graduates are able to apply to the PhD programs.

1 Generate constructive analysis of real world issues using the theories of economics and finance.
2 Provides a strong conceptual understanding of finance, combined with an understanding of the workings of financial markets and institutions.
3 Develop the ability to think critically, evaluate evidence, apply principles of the Scientific Method, and solve problems.
4 Identify complex problems and arguments and analyze those using the theoretical tools and quantitative methods of economics and finance.
