PERFORMING ARTS


Profile of the Program

Performing Arts Undergraduate Program, with the necessary courses on the theory of stage acting, including the principles that will form the basic qualifications; It aims to provide a training program aimed at educating competent artistic directors as well as intellectual, creative and productive performing arts theorists, critics, playwrights and dramaturgs who will create a dramatic repertoire including stage, screen, radio and commercials. In this direction, students are tried to graduate with a strong educational background by taking advantage of a wide range of courses for four years, in addition to theoretical courses, basic acting courses, courses where they can improve their bodily awareness, as well as national and international workshops conducted by expert educators and directors.

Qualification Awarded

The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree of Master of Lisans

Level of Qualification

This is a Bachelor’s Degree (First Cycle) program.

Specific Admission Requirements

Admission to the program with YKS score and Special Talent Exam is done. Candidates must meet the conditions specified in the exam instructions of the program.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The student must have succeeded in all the courses in the program; It must not have an F, NA, or U grade. In this program, the student must provide a minimum of 240 ECTS credits and a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

Recognition of Prior Learning

If students who are registered to another Higher Education University in Turkey or abroad, where they previously studied, apply within the first week, their credit and grade transfer requests are evaluated by the board of directors of the relevant education unit, and a decision is made only once, covering the entire education.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

1- They can perform acting, directing or stage design as performers in public or private professional societies related to the field of performing arts. 2- They can do dubbing in voice-over studios. 3- They can provide expert training in the field of performing arts (formal education institutions, companies, municipalities, NGOs, public education centers, courses, etc.). 4- They can work as lecturers or academicians in the performing arts departments of universities. 5- They are employed as actors or producers in television channels.

Access to Further Studies

Graduate students can apply to master's, doctoral programs or proficiency in arts programs in any field.

Program Outcomes

1 They acquire theoretical, historical and aesthetic knowledge specific to their field by using methods and techniques related to performing arts (acting, dance, music, etc.).
2 They have knowledge about art culture and aesthetics and they provide the unity of theory and practice in their field.
3 They are aware of national and international values in performing arts.
4 Abstract and concrete concepts of performing arts; can transform it into creative thinking, innovative and original works.
5 They have the sensitivity to run a business successfully in their field.
6 Develops the ability to perceive, think, design and implement multidimensional from local to universal.
7 They have knowledge about the disciplines that the performing arts field is related to and can evaluate the interaction of the sub-disciplines within their field.
8 They develop the ability to perceive, design, and apply multidimensionality by having knowledge about artistic criticism methods.
9 They can share original works related to their field with the society and evaluate their results and question their own work by using critical methods.
10 They follow English language resources related to their field and can communicate with foreign colleagues in their field.
11 By becoming aware of national and international values in the field of performing arts, they can transform abstract and concrete concepts into creative thinking, innovative and original works.
12 They can produce original works within the framework of an interdisciplinary understanding of art.
13 Within the framework of the Performing Arts Program and the units within it, they become individuals who are equipped to take part in the universal platform in their field.
14 Within the Performing Arts Program, according to the field of study; have competent technical knowledge in the field of acting and musical theater.
15 They use information and communication technologies together with computer software that is at least at the Advanced Level of the European Computer Use License as required by the field.
