PHYSIOTHERAPY AND REHABILITATION (ENGLISH)


Profile of the Program

Physiotherapist is trained to perform physiotherapy and rehabilitation of congenital or acquired diseases, disorders or injuries and to perform preventive physiotherapy procedures in the context of the protection and development of health. In this context, physiotherapist as the healthcare professional who determines the physiotherapy and rehabilitation needs of the patients by using modern evaluation and measurement methods, for plans the physiotherapy and rehabilitation programs and performs the necessary procedures personally. Physiotherapists involve with preventive, corrective and developmental studies, to consider the needs and demands of patients, their families, healthy persons and the whole society and to improve of the quality of life and health, which is a requirement of education and training of themselves.

Qualification Awarded

The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree of Bachelor of Fizyoterapist (FZT) - Physiotherapist (PT)

Level of Qualification

This is a Bachelor’s Degree (First Cycle) program.

Specific Admission Requirements

Student admission for this undergraduate program is made through university entrance examinations prepared in the framework of the regulations set by Higher Education Council of Turkey (YÖK). International students are accepted to this undergraduate program according to the score of one of the international exams they take such as SAT,ACT etc. or according to their high school diploma score. Exchange student admission is made according to the requirements determined by bilateral agreements signed by BAU and the partner university. Visiting students can enroll for the courses offered in this program upon the confirmation of the related academic unit.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The students graduating from this programme are awarded Bachelor's of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation degree.

Recognition of Prior Learning

At Bahcesehir University , full-time students can be exempted from some courses within the framework of the related by laws. If the content of the course previously taken in another institution is equivalent to the course offered at BAU, then the student can be exempted from this course with the approval of the related faculty/graduate school after the evaluation of the course content.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Graduates of undergraduate program in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation can be recruited within hospitals, outpatient healthcare centers, particular education and rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, sports/health centers, professional rehabilitation centers, industrial organizations, schools, spa and thermal facilities.

Access to Further Studies

The students graduating from this program may apply to second cycle (Master's degree) programmes.

4 To define evidence-based practices and determine problem solving methods in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation practices, using theories in health promotion, protection and care.

6 To have skills for training and consulting according to health education needs of individual, family and the community.
7 To be sensitive to health problems of the community and to be able to offer solutions.
8 To be able to use skills for effective communication.
9 To be able to select and use modern tools, techniques and modalities in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation practices; to be able to use health information technologies effectively.
10 To be able to search for literature in health sciences databases and information sources to access to information and use the information effectively.
11 To be able to monitor occupational information using at least one foreign language, to collaborate and communicate with colleagues at international level.
12 To be a role model with contemporary and professional identity.
