The Ph.D. program in Computer Engineering is designed to provide advanced training and foster research excellence in the fundamental areas of computer science and engineering. This program prepares students for a career in academia, industry, or research institutions, with a focus on innovative contributions to the fields of computer architecture, embedded systems, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and network systems. Students will engage in rigorous coursework and cutting-edge research, addressing both theoretical and applied challenges in computing. The program emphasizes the development of novel algorithms, hardware-software integration, and the optimization of complex systems. Through individual research projects, students will contribute to the advancement of knowledge, with an emphasis on practical, scalable solutions to current and future technological challenges. |
This is a program. |
In order to apply to the doctoral program, candidates must have a thesis-based master's degree and must have an ALES score of no less than 55 points in the score type of the program they are applying for, as determined by the Institute Board recommendation and Senate decision. In addition to the ALES score, a written scientific assessment exam and/or an additional interview result and a master's grade point average may also be evaluated for the acceptance of those who will apply to the doctoral program. Matters related to this evaluation, application conditions and other matters regarding student admission are announced to candidates through appropriate means upon the recommendation of the Institute Board of Directors and the rules determined by the Senate. |
Students who will continue their education at Bahçeşehir University may be exempted from the courses they took at their previous educational institution within the framework of certain regulations. If the content of the course taken is compatible with the content of the course given at BAU and is approved by the institute directorate, the student may be exempted from this course. |
Graduates of the program will be equipped with the critical thinking, technical expertise, and research skills necessary to lead advancements in computer engineering and to drive innovation across diverse fields. |
Students who successfully complete the program can apply for post-doctoral studies according to their areas of expertise. |
