Profile of the Program

The Information Technologies Master's Program offers an interdisciplinary education that enables individuals to follow current developments in the field of technology and apply this knowledge effectively. It is aimed to train qualified professionals who can lead in the public and private sectors and produce innovative solutions by providing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to the participants.

The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree of Bachelor of Information Technologies

Specific Admission Requirements

In accepting students to non-thesis master's programs, a bachelor's degree or equivalent graduation certificate/diploma, a foreign language proficiency certificate for programs conducted in English or another foreign language, and other criteria recommended by the Institute's Board of Directors and determined by the Senate are required.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The students studying in this undergraduate program are required to have a Cumulative Grade Points Average (Cum.GPA) of not less than 3.00/4.00 and have completed all the courses with at least a letter grade of C/S in the program in order to graduate. The minimum number of ECTS credits required for graduation is 90. It is also mandatory for the students to complete their compulsory project work in a specified duration and quality.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Students who will continue their education at Bahçeşehir University may be exempted from the courses they took at their previous educational institution within the framework of certain regulations. If the content of the course taken is compatible with the content of the course given at BAU and is approved by the institute directorate, the student may be exempted from this course.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Graduates of Information Technologies Graduate Program may be primarily employed in nearly every function related with the operation of informatics sector, mainly in the topics of software development, database programming, network management, operating systems management, web programming and software design and analysis. In addition, the graduates have high skills about business intelligence in terms of collecting, analyzing, processing data and producing useful information through that data. The graduates related to the educational technologies field have great expertise about applying the information technologies to the education system.

Access to Further Studies

Those who registered for the Non-Thesis Master's program before 06/02/2013 or those who have already graduated can apply to doctoral programs. Those who registered for the Non-Thesis Master's program after 06/02/2013 cannot apply to doctoral programs.

2 Designs, plans, implements, and manages original projects related to the field of Information Technology.
3 Conducts independent studies in the field of Information Technology, assumes scientific responsibility, and evaluates the findings with a critical perspective.
4 Presents the outcomes of research and projects effectively in written, oral, and visual forms, in accordance with academic and professional standards.
5 Conducts independent research on specialized topics within the field, develops innovative and original ideas, and translates this knowledge into practice and technology.
6 Effectively applies advanced theoretical knowledge and practical skills specific to the field of Information Technology; analyzes and develops current software, hardware, and system solutions.
7 Acts in accordance with professional, scientific, and ethical principles; takes responsibility by considering the societal, environmental, and ethical impacts of IT applications.
