The Music Doctorate Program is based on a principle of study that takes scientific music studies as its axis; With the goal of bringing together the theories of music and the structurally supporting disciplines in accordance with academic criteria, it is based on the mission of opening a professional field for doctoral candidates who can produce qualified studies, bringing the students into the ranks of reputable and sought-after academics in their disciplines under the guidance of competent teaching staff, and integrating them into the academic world. In accordance with this mission, the penning of enriched thesis contents, the creation of an expanded basis of perspective and awareness is aimed. It is among the basic principles and objectives of the program that qualities such as clarity, originality and, most importantly, the awareness of academic ethics has a prominent place in each study to be produced within this framework. In our Doctoral Program, we aim to focus on academic studies with a communicative perspective as much as possible at the doctoral level of the music program and to train academician candidates who will attain considerable intellectual accumulation in their area of expertise and respect academic ethical values as valuable additions for the scientific and art scene of our country. |

Graduates with bachelor's and master's degrees from all fields of universities can apply to the Doctoral Program. The relevant score in ALES and equivalent exam types is determined by the Head of the Institute's Department (provided that it is not less than 50 points). The relevant score in YDS, YÖKDİL and equivalent exam types is determined by the Head of the Institute's Department. After application, a two-stage written exam consisting of music knowledge and theory subjects is held, followed by an interview. |
Students who complete this program are entitled to receive the degree of Doctor (PhD) in Music. |

Post-Doctoral studies may be carried out after graduation from the Doctorate Program. It is possible for the graduate to publish works such as articles, books and conference papers as a continuation of their scientific area of expertise. |
