Course Objectives: | In this course students are expected to analyze the given space and its potentials; understand the spatial and functional requirements of basic activities of fair spaces and design a fair stand for a service-based company. During the 15 week program, students are expected to choose one of the three plots given and analyze its physical characteritics; develop a concept for a service-based company with given spatial and functional requirements; work on the the ıdentity and spatial organization scheme of the company, and investigate and design different promotion and displaying techniques for the stand. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; 1.analyze the given space and its potentials 2.develop a concept and program depending on the user / client requirements defined by the scenario 3.develop the space organization and design the shell of the fair stand on the given areIV- practice formal experiments working with models and drawings 4.investigate the materials and their technical and aesthetical qualities and constraints 5.prepare details of the fair stand’s construction 6.design of the display units and draw details of them 7.experiment with presentation techniques 8.practice formal working drawings and models. |
- choose one of the three plots given - analysis of its physical characteritics by sketches and models, - development of a concept for a service-based company with given spatial and functional requirements by library researches and group discussions, brainstorming sessions, - spatial interpretation of company's identity, and spatial organization scheme by drawings and models, - investigations on the structural system, material, color and lighting, related drawings - investigating and designing different promotion and displaying techniques/units for the stand and concretization by 1/20, 1/10 ve 1/5 scale drawings, - preparation of the final jury presentations by models and digital media. |
