Course Objectives: | Industrial Design III is a project-based course that aims to build industrial design process by using modern tools and methods. Assigned projects focus on developing new products considering product language, product family, product identity, marketing and detailed material knowledge and production aspects. Hands-on process of the course includes identifying customer needs, concept generation, product development, design-for-manufacturing and brand design considering social, cultural, business and ecological contexts. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; 1- display different kinds of skills and techniques used in product development process. 2- demonstrate creative problem-solving and decision making capabilities. 3- display critical, analytical, evaluative and reflective competencies. 4- develop an understanding of using design for differentiation, innovation and value creation. 5- correlate knowledge and skills gained from other courses through practice. 6- coordinate interdisciplinary processes (industrial design, marketing, engineering, production) 7- Evaluate own and group skills, in support of a collaborative team 8- Plan and manage a collaborative project, based on a Pearson-set theme 9- Present collaborative project outcomes, highlighting own contributions 10- Critically evaluate own work, and the work of others in a collaborative project. |
