Course Objectives: | This course is aimed to introduce human cognitive processes, including attention, perception, desicion making, intelligence, language, creativity, problem solving and short term and long term memory. This course consists of both theoretical and practical applications. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; 1. Defining the underlying foundations of cognitive psychology such as how we attend to and acquire information about other people and events, how we store, retrieve, transform, and how we solve problems. 2. Communicate an understanding of the major psychological concepts and theories of cognitive psychology in an objective manner. 3. Be familiar with the research methods used to study major concepts of cognitive psychology. |
Different topics are discussed in thhis course including Introduction to cognitive psychology, Cognitive neuroscience, Perception, Attention and consciousness, Memory Models & research methods in memory, Processes, Representations and Manipulations of Memory, Nature and Acquisition of Language, Language in context, Problem solving and creativity, Artificial Intelligence, and Decision making and reasoning. |
