Course Objectives: The rapid spread of the COVID-19 epidemic in cities has enabled the relationship between design processes and design processes, which has been neglected for many years, to come to the fore. It is aimed to reveal the importance of the design and planning of cities in terms of public health. The course aims to provide the student with the ability to increase the quality of life in the space with the elements of urban design and to understand the relationship between the urban environment and health. There are objectives of teaching general concepts about how cities can be reconsidered in terms of public health, and ensuring that healthy and livable spaces are accessible to everyone under equal conditions. In line with the principles of urban design, there are goals of promoting a healthy and sustainable lifestyle, the healthy relationship between the city and people, and shaping a sustainable city that transforms ecology into a lifestyle.

Learning Outputs

The students who have succeeded in this course;
Course Learning Outcomes: Have information about the historical process of the relationship between the development of cities and epidemics,
Can use the basic principles of Health Promotion as a Basic Principle in Urban Design,
Gain the ability to analyze and define problems on urban design to improve health,
Have the knowledge to learn the general concepts in order to ensure that healthy and livable spaces are accessible to everyone under equal conditions,
Gains the ability to look at today's Urban Design problems from different perspectives,
Gains interdisciplinary working skills by taking basic information about Urban Design.
