Course Objectives: It is aimed that the students can develop their knowledge and skills about evaluating crime scene investigation; cases of violence, trauma, and offenders of other crime cases and/or in examining the sufferers/victims in the cases of trauma or death with a medical and legal point of view; about collecting, keeping, and sending the forensic evidences to the proper authorities in forensic cases, and about providing and carrying on the communication with the offenders and the victims and safety, as well as their basic nursing knowledge and skills.

Learning Outputs

The students who have succeeded in this course;

2 To be able to comprehend the responsibilities of nurses in forensic cases
3 To be able to have an evaluation with a medical and legal point of view in examining the offenders and victims in forensic cases
4 To be able to count the basic principles about crime scene investigation and about collecting, keeping and sending the forensic evidences to the proper authorities
5 To be able to count the basic principles of forensic documentation (writing medical-legal report-forensic report) and of taking the stand.
6 To be able to carry out the basic medical care of offender/victim in forensic cases
7 To be able to give education and consult to the offender/victim and their families in accordance with their medical requirements in forensic cases
8 To be able to behave according to ethic principles in forensic cases"
