Course Objectives: To know the purpose, philosophy and principles of palliative care, the roles and responsibilities of the palliative care team, to identify the palliative care needs of the patient and his family, to provide the necessary knowledge and skills in the care process, and the methods of effective coping with the mourning period.

Learning Outputs

The students who have succeeded in this course;
Control of primary disease in the palliative care process, evaluation of physical symptoms, psychiatric, spiritual, social and economic problems, diagnosis of end-of-life needs, care process, effective coping with mourning period.

Course Content

"1. Knows the purpose, philosophy and principles of palliative care.
2. Knows ethical and legal issues related to palliative care.
3. Investigate the roles and responsibilities of the palliative care team.
4. Indication of pain and other symptoms in need of palliative care is planned on the nursing home page for these symptoms.
5. Can identify palliative care needs of patient and family.
6. Can communicate with the patient and his family.
7. To arrange and apply the care in the end-of-life conditions,
8. Can plan the care of the family in the law."
