Course Objectives: The aim of this course; to define and classify tooth caries, to teach the reasons of caries, to perform cavity preparations in the correct working position; recognizing adhesive restorative materials and procedures, distinguishing, and treating non-carious cervical lesions, and explaining the approach to dentin hypersensitivity

Learning Outputs

The students who have succeeded in this course;
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to do the following.
1- To define the principles of adhesive cavity preparations
2- To classify caries formation and theories
3- To learn the relationship between caries and cariogenic bacterial plaque, saliva, nutrition, and microorganisms
4- To identify enamel, dentin, cement caries and features of dental caries
5- To learn adhesion and adhesive dental restoratives and equipment in dentistry
6- To know the restorative applications performed on teeth that have lost excessive substance
7- To learn the determination of caries risk and to define saliva analysis, diet analysis and caries activity tests
8- To learn the definition, classification, and treatment alternatives of non-carious lesions of the teeth and dentin hypersensitivit

Causes of dental caries, cavity principles, restorative materials and tooth sensitivity explained theoretically with case photographs and x-rays

5) The Relationship Between Caries and Cariogenic Bacterial Plaque, Saliva, The Relationship Between Caries and Microorganism and Caries and Nutrition
6) Secondary Factors Affecting Dental Caries and the Relationship Between Systemic Diseases and Dental Caries
