Course Objectives: | Objectives of the histology course: To reveal the structure-function relationship of cells and tissues at the microscopic level. Define the target of the histology. To emphasize the main usage purposes of the methods used. To comprehend the basic principles and purposes of microscopes used today, starting from the light microscope to the high-resolution Electron Microscope. To recognize human cells and basic tissues with their molecular properties. Formation of reproductive cells, fertilization; Starting from the zygote stage, cascading the early development of the embryo at the cell and tissue level. To reveal the well-known and faulty embryological developments. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; Upon successful completion of this course students will; 1.Tell the properties of light. 2.Determine the purpose of use of microscope types, recognizes different cell types by using light microscope. 3.Recognize cell organelles and explains cell divisions. 4.Interpret the results of any organelle damage. 5.Specify the histological features of tissues, recognizes different tissues in different structures. 6.Specify the histological features of specialized connective tissues, defines the differences between them. 7.Recognize oocyte and spermatocytes and gives information about their cellular properties. 8.List all the steps of oogenesis and show the cells in the intermediate steps. 9.List all steps of spermatogenesis and shows cells in intermediate steps 10.Explain fertilization and implantation events in detail. 11.Summarize the events taking place in the 2nd and 3rd weeks of embryonic development. 12.Define the formations that occur in the 2nd and 3rd weeks of embryonic development. |
