Course Objectives: | This course covers current topics related to computer networks. The aim of the course is to examine the various solutions provided through computer networks (e.g., video transfer, smart cities, distributed computing, scalable algorithms). |
The students who have succeeded in this course; I. Becoming familiar with emerging network paradigms such as Internet of Things and Software Defined Networks. II. Understanding of various network infrastructures such as Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) and Content Delivery Network (CDN). III. Understanding network fundamentals such as distributed systems and network security. IV. Gaining a deep understanding of the trade-offs in improving network performance. V. Gaining practice in critically understanding and presenting new network architectures and technologies. |
Within the scope of the course, basic concepts and technologies related to modern computer networks are taught. The content to be covered in the course is gathered under three main topics: (1) wireless networks and protocols, (2) virtualization in networks, (3) data centers and cloud computing. |
