Course Objectives: To give students the ability of gaining knowledge, skill and problem-solving skill about evaluation, development, preservation and maintenance of children's health in line with the philosophy of basic medical services considering.

5 Knows the responsibilities that nurse can take in the primary, secondary and tertiary levels of protection both for child and the family.
6 Plans and applies family-centered and atraumatic nursing care to the child and family in accordance with the holistic philosophy, and evaluates its results.
7. Uses innovative approaches in the care of diseases seen in children."

Course Content

This course includes evaluation of children’s health both in the world and in our country, children’s rights, child abuse and neglect, effects of disease and hospitalization on the child and family, growth and development, administration of medication in children, nutrition in childhood, accidents and frequent acute/chronic diseases.
