Course Objectives: Using nursing models and theories in accordance with the student's nursing philosophy and individual needs; to provide knowledge and skills to protect and develop health of individual, family and community, to diagnose health problems, to plan, implement and evaluate appropriate interventions.

Learning Outputs

The students who have succeeded in this course;
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to;
1. Summarizes the historical development and nature of nursing,
2. Define the importance and role responsibilities of nurses in health care system,
3. Define basic concepts such as human, environment, health, disease, nursing and ethics,
4. Knows nursing models / theories in health care practices.
5. Identify problems related to maintenance.
6. Communicates effectively with individuals, family and health team members.

Course Content

The nature of nursing, its importance in health care system, roles and responsibilities, basic nursing concepts, nursing models and theories, basic principles and concepts related to nursing philosophy, effective communication and interaction skills, giving information in the direction of a nursing model in the presence of health problems.
