Course Objectives: The materials used in the dentistry clinic; as an oral and dental health technician, to classify, compare and evaluate chemical, physical structures, clinical and laboratory uses

Learning Outputs

The students who have succeeded in this course;
Will be able to examine the general properties and interaction of dental materials according to the usage areas. Explains the chemical structure of impression material and its interaction with other materials. Manages the process of delivery of impression to the laboratory. Prepares both bonding and base cement according to the guiding of dentist. Prepares the restoration materials in the working environment in accordance with dentist's guidance. Arranges surgical materials at the operation table in accordance with the conditions of asepsia. Formulates endodontic solutions at appropriate concentrations.

Course Content

This course involve; introduction to science of materials, plaster, wax, revetman, impression trays, impression materials, temporary crown materials, temporary cements, cements, base materials, color scales, color determination devices; topics.
