Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to gain competence in effective clinical assistance specific to the fields of specialization in dentistry, to gain workflow regulation skills through patient follow-up programs used in practice and clinical environments, and to provide information on treatment protocols and patient relations.

Learning Outputs

The students who have succeeded in this course;
Under the clinical job description, it explains secretarial services, sterilization and instrument cleaning, material procurement and follow-up, regulation of patient-clinic-laboratory workflow.
Explains the recognition of tools and materials used in dentistry and their effective use to assist the dentist during treatment.
Defines and explains how to be a responsible, solution-oriented and well-equipped oral and dental technician who knows the patients.
Has basic theoretical and applied knowledge, ethical principles and rules about Oral and Dental Health.
Using the basic knowledge and skills acquired in the field of Oral and Dental Health, interprets and evaluates the data, defines and analyzes the problems and takes part / responsibility in the studies planned for the solution.

Course Content

Making an appointment on the phone, knowing the clinical workflow, accepting the patient to the examination room, preparing the patient room and stock control of the materials, ensuring the laboratory workflow, protection from infectious infections, toxic agents and radiation, ensuring in-clinic order, effective dental assistant and four-handed The principles of dentistry, the use of clinical devices, post-patient care and patient follow-up will be covered in practice.
