Course Objectives: The purpose of this course is to recognize various belief systems, to gain a persperctive on the beliefs of clients who are members of various belief systems or who do not feel themselves belong to any religious group, and to understand the relation of spiritual life to mental health.

Learning Outputs

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1.Upon completion of this course the student will be able to; Articulate the perspective of various beliefs to human.
2.Express the influence of various beliefs on coping strategies of the clients.
3.Analyze the possible risks and protective factors of various beliefs on the mental health of the clients.
4.Helps the client solve his/her difficulties by considering the spiritual life of the client, based on phenomenological point of view and multicultural approach.

Course Content

The fundamental concepts of spiritual counseling, its foundations, history and principles, multiculturalism and spiritual counseling, spirituality in western and eastern philosophies and post-modern belief systems, ethical issues.
