Course Objectives: | 1.To provide a forum in which students can deepen the oral communication skills acquired in ELT1106. 2.To familiarize students with basic concepts from rhetoric and discourse. 3.To help students gain experience in outlining and drafting their speeches according to the audience and the objectives of the speech. |

Classwork aims to develop effective language use in both formal and informal contexts. Classroom activities take the form of information gap, persuasion, discussion, debate, and role-play as a means of exploiting different types of communication for different purposes. Oral Communication represents the major area of emphasis; for, improving teacher candidates' oral competence in English is an important step towards training effective English language teachers. Students are assessed according to the quality and the delivery of the speeches they prepare. |
