Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to teach the use of the tools that can be used by prospective teachers to evaluate the learning in the classroom based on the teaching principles and methods. Following the realization of the instruction, the implementation step of these tools is realized.

Learning Outputs

The students who have succeeded in this course;
Gain information and skills on assessment tools which are based on the instructional principles of Computer Educationa and Instructional Technology field.
Explain how and with which tools the learning should be evaluated according to the educational approaches.
Describe the properties of assessment and evaluation tools that can be used in in-class learnings.
Develop tools for different learning domains to be used in the assessment of in-class learnings.
Use these developed assessment tools for the assessment of the learning outcomes.

Course Content

Assessment tools used in education and their properties; tools based on traditional approaches: Written exams, short answer exams, true-false type tests, multiple-choice tests, matching tests, oral examinations; tools for identfying students comprehensively: Observation, interview, performans assessment, student product file, research papers, research projects, peer feedback, self-evaluation, attitude scales; points to be considers in the evaluation of students; assessment of learning outcomes and grading.
