Course Objectives: The main objective of the course is demonstrating an understanding of the process of packaging design in terms of the role of packaging in product identification, presentation and production. Further challenges of adapting typography, illustration, design and materials to three-dimensional forms are explored. Students registering for this course are recommended to have taken Graphic Design course.

Learning Outputs

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Visualize concepts.
2) Reapply existing identity and create corporate identity.
3) Adapt typography, illustration, images and materials to three dimensional forms to design surface graphics.
4) Demonstrate compositional skills working with type, color and structure.
5) Demonstrate skills in model making, construction patterns and mock ups.
6) Recognize formats and materials used in packaging.
7) Exhibit critical thinking skills in the formation of three dimensional designs and surfaces.
8) Recognize target market and its function in relationship to design.
9) Display ability to profile audiences for succesful presentation techniques.
