Course Objectives: The aim of the course is to get familiar with the different ideas and theories of gifted education and to provide a comparison of different and unusual aspects of gifted and talented education by discussing controversial issues.

Learning Outputs

The students who have succeeded in this course;
At the end of this course the student:
Explains the concepts and situations’ controversial points in the education of gifted and talented children.
Explains the cognitive characteristics of gifted and talented children.
Prepares activities for supporting the cognitive development of gifted and talented children according to interest and learning style by benefiting the samples.
Decides on a training method that is suited to the characteristic of a gifted and talented student.
Prepares an action plan to save a gifted and talented child from underachievment

Course Content

Addressing controversial topics in the education of gifted and talented children nationally or internationally; weekly reading assignments and class discussions.
