Course Objectives: | This course will cover the fundamental technologies in multimedia communications and basic network structure. Course objectives can be listed as: Define and discuss major concepts, tools, techniques and methods of multimedia applications; introduce students to real-life multimedia systems and applications to emphasize the relationship between conceptual understanding and real-life applications; general knowledge on representation and transmission of audio and video media; general knowledge on basic network structure. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; 1) Defines general principles on Multimedia communications. 2) Recognize real life communication applications. 3) Explains audio analysis, compression and transmission in real life applications. 4) Explains image analysis, compression and transmission in real life applications. 5) Explains video analysis, compression and transmission in real life applications. 6) Defines general principles on audio, image and video coding standards. 7) Defines general principles on basic network structure. |
