Course Objectives: |
This is a hands-on design course where concepts and techniques of visual communication, the relationship between word and image will be introduced to the students. Objectives include building an understanding of the principles of design, a knowledge of design terminology, an awareness of design process, forming the concept and exploration of certain graphic design tools, building a creative relationship between word and image, establishing a positive learning and stimulating studio environment where creative work and self and group critiques can take place. The instructional methods of this course will include lectures, group discussions, individual critiques and creative work. Doing work on time, being ready to work in class, participation in discussion, critique and other public forms of participation are vital to the success of this class. |
