Course Objectives: 1. To introduce knowledge on the ship management and training methods, principles and applications on board in the light of the general management and leadership practice and principles.
2. To introduce international and national acquis related to the ship management practice (STCW, ISM Code, Seafarers Regulation, Ship Manning Regulation, Maritime Labor Convention, Education and Examination Instruction) and explain applications..
3. To provide information on conduct of assigned duties and arrangement of work load on board (Planning, and coordination, assignment of jobs, Use of time and assets, prioritization).
4. To provide information on Bridge Source Management Practice and reinforce their skills on this area.
5. To introduce the decision making process and reinforce these knowledge with an application

Course Content

Ship's personnel management and training, relevant international maritime regulations and recommendations with national legislation information, tasks and workload management implements ability, effective resource management applied ability and knowledge, allocation of resources, assignment and prioritization, on board and ashore effective communication, importance of team experience reflecting decisions, motivation, leadership. Gaining and maintaining situational awareness. And the ability to apply knowledge of the decision-making techniques.
