Course Objectives: | The main objective of the course is giving information about: -Improving theoretical and implemented basic informations about noise and vibration -Giving evaluating and measuring methods of acoustical noise and vibration -Evaluation and implementation of measuring results by using of these technics -Measuring and evaluating in railway systems vehicle vibration and noise issues |
The students who have succeeded in this course; Course Outcomes are: -Understanding vibration and acoustical information and basis -Gaining evaluation ability and understanding effects of noise and vibration on humans and systems -Gaining ability of noise and vibration measuring techniques -Having information about international standards related to railway systems vibration and noise conrol |
Basic concepts of vibration theory, free and forced vibrations, multi free leveled vibration systems, vibration sources in railway vehicles. Related international vibration standards. Noise and metrology parameters. Distribution of noise in space. Noise and noise control in living areas. Noise absorbing materials and noise barriers. Effects of noise and vibration to human. International standards related to railway system vehicles. Noise and vibration levels of machines. Dimensioning of noise and vibration levels in terms of international standards in railway vehicles. |
