Course Objectives: Basic concepts and principles related to holistic health care services in accordance with surgical diseases, to plan on the basis of evidence in the care of the surgical patient surgical procedure, it will gain the ability to implement and evaluate.

Learning Outputs

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1 The basic concepts in surgical nursing discusses .
2 The surgical site infections and patient safety discusses. Understand the importance of designing new services in the protection of surgical site infections.
3 The principles of patient care related to fluid and electrolyte balance in surgical patient explains.
4 Preoperative and postoperative discuss effective nursing care in accordance with evidence-based practices.
5 Postoperative complications explain the responsibility of the nurse management.
6 Learning effective methods of pain control in surgery patients improves care and stomach care initiatives.
7 Gain the importance of new products and services developments for care of surgical patients.

Course Content

The basic concepts in surgery, a sepsis, infection, fluid and electrolyte balance, wound care, surgical procedures, evidence-based practice in surgery include patient safety.
