Course Objectives: • will be able to develop an understanding of the basic concepts of quality, including international and national quality standards and award programs, and history of the global quality movement.
• will be able to provide a basic understanding of "widely-used" quality analysis tools and techniques in higher education. Create an awareness of the quality management problem-solving techniques currently in use.
• will be able to develop an understanding of strategic quality planning in higher education institutions.
• will be able to learn how quality improvement programs are implemented in higher education institutions.
• will be able to develop an understanding of approaches used to continually improve a higher education institution’s Quality System.

Learning Outputs

The students who have succeeded in this course;
At the end of the course students will be able to
• Explain the main concepts of TQM, TQM philosophies and global quality movement.
• Describe TQM processes in higher education institutions.
• Apply suitable quality analysis tools and techniques in certain contexts with specific objectives
• Implement quality improvement programs in higher education institutions.
• Divide strategic quality planing into processes.
• Evaluate quality assurance practices in higher education institutions

Course Content

This course will focus on the use of various methods and recent developments of quality control (such as QA/QC, STQM, Six Sigma and DFSS) in detail. Students will be familiarized with quality control techniques, quality assurance issues and quality management methods in higher education institutions.
