Course Objectives: | This course is designed to engage students in the careful reading and critical analysis of English literary texts beginning from the Anglo-Saxon period till early 18th century. Through close reading of selected texts, students will deepen their understanding of the ways writers use language to provide both meaning and pleasure for their readers and learn about the socio-historical contexts in which these texts were produced. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; Students who complete this course; 1.Wil learn how to read and discuss works of literature critically. 2. Will learn about the main elements of poetry. 3. Will learn to discern the dynamic relationship between literary texts and the period in which they were produced. |
